Postdoctoral Researcher in AI/ML for Biomedicine – Lausanne University Hospital

Seeking highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to work on AI/ML applications in oncology, the recently formed AI/ML in Biomedicine group at the Biomedical Data Science Centre at the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) and the University of Lausanne (UNIL) is headed by Prof. Marianna Rapsomaniki.

Project

The goal of the AI/ML for Biomedicine group is to create novel AI/ML methods with or without spatial resolution to clarify cancer pathways at various scales by using heterogeneous single-cell data. Modelling 3D genome regulation within a cell, cellular interactions within the tumour microenvironment, and patient-level effects of medication perturbations are among the topics of particular interest. Our organisation is a component of the Biomedical Data Science Centre (BDSC), which is a collaborative service, teaching, and translational research platform of the University of Lausanne (UNIL) Faculty of Biology and Medicine and the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV). CHUV is a leader in medical treatment, medical research, and medical education thanks to its partnerships with the EPFL, the UNIL’s Faculty of Biology and Medicine, and both.

Tasks

  1. You will design novel AI/ML techniques based on generative modelling, multimodal AI, and/or graph representation learning, for example.
  2. These approaches will be customised to look at physiologically significant issues including drug perturbation modelling, illness subtyping, and biomarker development.
  3. Scientific discoveries will be shared through publications and conference presentations.
