The emphasis of the Faulkner laboratory is on how plant immune responses are mediated by intercellular communication. In multicellular animals, cell-to-cell communication is an essential biological activity that is required for the coordination of development and environmental reactions. The Faulkner lab conducts research on the role that plant cell-to-cell communication plays in the development and maintenance of plant immune responses.
