Project Information
You will work on the “How inactivation of mitochondrial calcium uniporter protects dopaminergic neurons” research funded by the National Science Centre in Poland under the OPUS grant (2023/49/B/NZ4/02744).
Establishing the mechanism of dopaminergic neurons and retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) loss in zebrafish models by ferroptosis, apoptosis, or activated microglia is the goal of the PhD thesis study.
In molecular and cellular biology, your duties as a PhD student will include performing scientific research, analysing data, preparing different kinds of dissection of the results gained, and taking part in the required activities of the doctoral school.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry or related field.
- Basic hands-on experience in at least one of the fields: molecular biology, cell biology, fluorescent and confocal microscopy.
- Good knowledge of the basics of molecular and cell biology.
- Written and spoken fluency in English.
