Postdoctoral Position in RNA Biology of B Cells – Human Technopole, Milan

Project Info

HT, an interdisciplinary research institute funded by the Italian government, aims to create novel approaches to advance human health by integrating data and decision sciences, genomics, computational and structural biology, and neuroscience.

The team from Soskic and Legnini will collaborate on the project. The Soskic group investigates the molecular processes that control the genetic diversity, generation of antibodies, and activation of B cells. The Legnini group looks into how regulatory components in mRNAs, such as 3’UTRs and poly(A) tails, affect RNA quantity and function. They also study the molecular aspects of RNA regulation, from processing to destruction.

They are seeking a postdoc applicant to study immune-activation-induced regulation of RNA splicing of important genes involved in B cell development, posttranscriptional processes governing B cell differentiation, and stability and degradation of antibody RNAs.

Requirements

  1. PhD in either genomics, immunology, cell biology, biochemistry or other relevant disciplines (or PhD is going to be awarded by January 2025),
  2. Fluency in English – HT is an international research institute and English will be the main language spoken in the lab,
  3. Experience and interest in B cell biology,
  4. Experience and interest in RNA splicing and metabolism.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Developing fresh concepts to study the control of gene expression in B cells and the synthesis of antibodies.
  2. Developing and maintaining track of data, guidelines, and/or codes for publications.
  3. Planning, conducting out, and analysing genomic research (such as scRNA-seq, FLAM-seq, and CLIP-seq to find target locations for protein binding to RNA)
  4. Interacting and supporting other group members.

Deadline and Application

The deadline for the application is on 01 August 2024. For more details and application, visit the official website.
