Pfizer is hiring a senior associate for their IT wing in Chennai, India.

The Senior Associate will handle day-to-day support tasks pertaining to Pfizer’s cloud DMZs, Internet, and WAN. Performing analysis for Internet offload, answering problem tickets, assisting with the deployment of new cloud services, and updating relevant support documentation are some specific duties. In addition to collaborating with application support teams, global information security teams, and monitoring/automation teams, the role will concentrate on WAN, DMZ, and cloud engineering.

Role Details

  • Assist in defining and assessing WAN, DMZ, and cloud design standards; this includes maintaining logical and physical diagrams and technical design papers.
  • Encourage cooperation in the study, creation, and implementation of novel WAN, cloud, and feature technologies.
  • Support the design, analysis, testing, and optimization of WAN and DMZ-related infrastructure changes from requirements to implementation.
  • Support extended network strategies like “IOT” (Internet of Things) and guest wifi by working with and assisting other technical teams.
  • Work together with other groups to build technologies for automating network infrastructure.
  • To create international standards for network services, collaborate with cross-organizational teams, FW engineering, Network Operations, Global Information Security, and DDI engineering.
  • To guarantee business continuity, support prescribed periodic failover testing.
  • Install and set up network software and hardware in accordance with international security and surveillance regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or engineering with five to ten years of experience in a corporate or business setting in a network-related role.

Requirements

  • Proven familiarity with IP routing and the various protocols found in a large IP network (preferably with BGP).
  • Proven ability to work with cloud services like Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS.
  • Practical understanding of network security elements like firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
  • Fundamental knowledge of IP protocols, services, and features (e.g., firewalls, LACP, 802.1Q trunking, VLANs, NAT, DNS, VPN/Tunnels, and VRRP), familiarity with Layer-2 network technologies, such as Ethernet wide area networks, familiarity with IP-related protocols, including OMP, MPLS, BGP-4, EIGRP, and OSPF.
  • The capacity to identify reasons, troubleshoot/debug problems, and promote resolution.
  • knowledge of the network, security, and design elements of the Internet DMZ.
  • Capacity to produce Low Level Designs (LLDs) engineering documentation related to Pfizer Network equipment design, deployment, integration, or decommissioning.
