Chemist – Laboratory

Eli Lilly and Company is seeking a dedicated Chemist – Laboratory to join their team in Indianapolis. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and safety of our pharmaceutical products through rigorous analytical testing and data interpretation. Role Responsibilities

1. Analytical Testing: Perform complex chemical analysis on raw materials, intermediates, and finished drug products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, and wet chemistry.

2. Data Integrity: Ensure all laboratory documentation complies with ALCOA+ principles and rigorous cGMP standards.

3. Instrumentation Maintenance: Troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.

4. Method Validation: Assist in the transfer and validation of analytical methods to support new product launches.

5. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) guidelines and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Qualifications

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.

2. Experience: Previous experience in a regulated laboratory environment (FDA/EMA) is highly preferred.

3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in chromatography software (e.g., Empower) and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems).

4. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent written communication, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting.
