Role Overview
This role plays a crucial part in Roche’s biochemical manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will have overall accountability for completing day-to-day manufacturing tasks as scheduled while ensuring full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), safety regulations, and Roche’s corporate quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Bioprocess Operations: Prepare small-scale equipment, clean and sterilize vessels, formulate chemical solutions, and safely operate biochemical processing equipment.

Sampling & Monitoring: Conduct raw materials sampling, component dispensing, and routine environmental monitoring sampling while maintaining exceptional housekeeping standards.

Documentation: Ensure all assigned tasks are prioritized effectively, and work is accurately documented according to approved manufacturing formulas and compliance logs.

Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot equipment and minor process anomalies to support continuous process improvement and optimization efforts.

Safety & Compliance: Comply with all Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) requirements, reporting safety incidents or near misses promptly to support shift operations.

Continuous Improvement: Embody the PT Lean Production System (LPS) and demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset using specialized lean tools.

Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Life Sciences, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a closely related discipline. NITEC holders with extensive experience are also highly encouraged to apply.

Experience: Fresh graduates with a relevant degree are welcome. For Diploma holders, at least 3 years of biopharma experience is preferred; for NITEC holders, a minimum of 7 years of manufacturing experience is required. A background in biologics, fermentation, microbiology, or protein purification is a strong plus.

Technical & Physical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, basic computer literacy for data entry and automated process controls, and the physical capability to lift heavy loads up to 25kg when required.

Flexibility: Must be willing to work at the Tuas Bay Link facility and fully commit to rotating shift schedules, weekends, and overtime as production requires.
